Seminar on “Integrated Pollution Management for Clean and Healthy Bangladesh and Green Growth” held
In the "World Environment Day Seminar-2023," held on 6 June 2023, Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) played a pivotal role as one of the esteemed co-organizers, collaborating with the Department of Environment (DoE). Noteworthy co-organizers of this event included eminent entities like the World Bank South Asia, UNICEF, Pure Earth, and the University of Dhaka.
Under the theme "Integrated Pollution Management for Clean and Healthy Bangladesh and Green Growth," the seminar provided a platform for critical discussions on environmental stewardship.
Dr. Engineer Khalequzzaman, the visionary founder of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU), delivered an address during the seminar. He emphasized the Foundation's steadfast commitment to climate change mitigation and adaptation, shedding light on the diverse array of climate-friendly initiatives undertaken. Projects such as Bondhu Chula, Climate-friendly Tree Plantation, Climate-friendly Agriculture, Solar-powered Drinking Water Supply, and Energy-saving Stove projects were highlighted as instrumental in the ongoing effort to safeguard the environment. Further, Dr. Engineer Khalequzzaman outlined ambitious plans for future initiatives, particularly focusing on afforestation and mangrove restoration.
In a symbolic gesture, Dr. Engineer Khalequzzaman presented an Energy-saving stove to Dhaka University as a commemorative gift. Handing over this innovative stove to the students marked a gesture of mutual commitment toward sustainable practices and environmental conservation. This act underscored the collaborative spirit in promoting eco-friendly solutions within educational institutions, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and innovation.
